Time for some good news :)

I can't believe October is here!! It feels like an eternity has passed. Most if not all of our family and friends are aware that I lost my step-dad, Papa Chuck, on Sept 12th. He fought a very hard fight but due to the complications that arose caused by his injuries, his body grew very weary and he would not survive without life-support. We as a family agreed to remove the life-support and let him return to our Heavenly Father. My family here in Utah was able to travel back to Ohio to attend the funeral. 2 days before I left, my Grandma Arnett and step-mom Margaret were going into their home and fell on the steps leading up onto the porch. Grandma sustained 4 fractured vertebrae and Mom sustained a fractured wrist. When the hospital did the MRI to see the condition of the fractures on Grandma they found that she had cancer in the spine and it was developing rapidly. Chemo would not be beneficial for her so everyone involved agreed to just make her as comfortable as possible

Another Testament of Chirst

I found this today while looking at Deseret Books webpage. If you haven't seen the Reflections of Christ book or DVD yet, you really should. This slideshow is by the same photographer. http://www.anothertestamentofchrist.com/ Emma and I were watching this morning and I loved the questions and comments that she made.....1)This makes me think of Grandpa Chuck, 2)I wonder what Jesus's voice sounds like, 3)He really died for all the bad things that we do or will do? It was a great opportunity to share just a few simple feelings with her and let her see how happy those before us were when he came to the America's after he was crucified. She really liked when he was with the children and giving them hugs and kisses. She mentioned at that point that she was happy to be his little sister. Priceless :)

Papa Chuck....

Image
(I couldn't resist this picture, he was modeling the santa hat for the my girlies) Well, I haven't posted on here for a few weeks. So much has happened in that time. I really don't know where to start. On Aug 24th my stepdad, Papa Chuck, was in a car accident involving him on his scooter and a pick-up truck. He was on his way home from work at about dusk and the truck pulled out in front of him, claiming not to see him, and hit him. The jerk was scared so left the scene and didn't bother to even call 911. He did later return but not til after Papa had been taken to the hospital via careflight. I won't get into details about him because one, he isnt worth wasting my energy on at the moment, and two....well I really don't want to get going on such a horrible person that would just leave another human being lying in the middle of the road. The last two and half weeks have been a huge roller coaster for my family, especially my mother. We were called on Mond

$500 Wal-mart GC contest....we'll see.......

Image
So I'm entering a contest for a $500 GC to Walmart to update Josh and Adam's to the new "Your Zone" collection. Their poor room has bunk beds that I think used to be in the MTC eons ago. They don't complain though. Hopefully if I win they will be able to get a much needed update :) We'll see. Here's a picture of what I think would be a fun addition for them and the link to where you can enter the contest too if you want. They also have some way cute "girlie" items. http://www.ahappyhippymom.com/2009/08/walmart-your-zone-bedroom-makeover-and-500-gc-giveaway.html/comment-page-23#comment-10285

All about my Dad :)

Image
So today's blog is all about my daddy. It's hard to believe that it has now been two years since he left us. It still feels like yesterday I was packing to make the long trip home to say my good-byes. I think the best part of my remember "what was I doing at this time two years ago" was talking to him on the phone the day before his heart attack. My little sis had just flown in from Ohio and we were checking in with him to let him know that she had arrived. The last thing we said on the phone was "I love you Papa" and "I love you too kiddo". I miss those phone calls a ton but thinking of them make me smile whenever I start to miss him. He always had a way of making me smile or think of the up side even when I knew he might be having a bad day. Some of the things that helped me get through his funeral and the weeks that slowly passed was thinking of some of the funny things we did growing up. Dad nicknaming me "skunk", buying me a

Browsing Facebook.....

While browsing on facebook, I came across this great quote by Pres. Packer. Not sure the talk or where it came from but I still really liked it. Happy Friday :) "Faith, to be faith, must center around something that is not known. Faith, to be faith, must go beyond that for which there is confirming evidence. Faith, to be faith, must go into the unknown. Faith, to be faith, must walk to the edge of the light and then a few steps into the darkness. If everything has to be known, if everything has to be explained, if everything has to be certified, then there is no need for faith. Indeed there is no room for it." -Elder Boyd K. Packer

Domino's American Legends House Party

Image
"Hot" pizza delivery boy "Hot" delivery boys even "hotter" daddy. Wow that's a lot of pizza!!! Take the picture already, we are starving..... This pizza is out of this world!!! About a month or two ago, I heard on KSL or Ch 4 about these things called "house party's". Someone had been chosen to host a group of friends and family for Domino's Pizza to try some of their new stuff. I thought, Hey, why not see what this is all about. Needless to say, I went on houseparty.com and entered. There are literally thousands of people who submit to get to host these parties, in Utah I happened to be one of the 20 chosen for the new American Legends Pizza Party. The party was to be scheduled for June 20th. With Father's Day the next day I decided what better way to honor our American Legend Dads then by giving them American Legend Pizza??? We invited all of the Prices and Schows over and were able to to try 5 of the 6 new pizza's.

I survived a night of Brownies!!

My favorite group of monkey's getting ready to visit the Gorilla's Del & Josh helping out with breakfast, mmmmm, bacon! We had our Brownie sleepover on Friday night. I had all of these great plans for a fun and event filled evening. There was going to be smores, a campfire, charades and then of course girls giggling in the tent next to mine. Well, due to the weather, none of that happened. It's amazing what mother nature will throw at you to make you just put your arms in the air and say I give up. The girls kept good spirits and even though the tent got wet an

And a week later.......

I was hoping to be able to post a cute little picture of our ultrasound but alas, my home computer doesn't like me right now and won't let me scan pictures. For those that we haven't told yet, our darling little Halloween baby is going to be a BOY :) :)

Wooohoooo.....

Only 2 more hours til Ultrasound......any last minute guess's on what baby will be?

A little homesick....

This is one of my favorite places back home. Charleston Falls near Huber Hts, Ohio. I used to take walks there with my friends during the fall and summer. Whoever took this picture did a great job, I can almost hear the sound of the water :) There are times I just miss Ohio......

Announcing the newest addition to the Hillcrest Productions Company

Image
For those of you who know our ever so humble Adam.....you will not be surprised to learn that he and his cousin Johnny have both made it onto the Hillcrest Productions Company. This is huge achievement for both of them. Their auditions consisted of singing a solo, reciting a monologue and then dancing. From what I heard the group dances were pretty grouling. I have to admit, I'm not excited for the amount of time that is going to be required and the fact that I feel I will never see Adam during his senior year of high school, but I am VERY proud of him for sticking with it and not giving up on a major goal. I wish him all the best and can't wait to see him on stage :) Love ya bud!!!

My lil' Seth....not so little

Image
Every year I take the little kids to get their birthday pictures done in November and December. Since I wanted to get a new family picture with everyone I decided to wait. My sister Kris and her daughter Dawn are here visiting from Ohio and Dawn wanted to get a few pictures taken of her little boy AJ who is 5 months old. I told her about Kiddie Kandids and thought hey, I should get Seth's done since I don't have a single pic of him on my "kid" shelf other than when he turned 1. Emma was bummed that we didn't get her pic taken but I promised her we would go soon. I'm also looking forward to doing Adam's senior pics for next year as well as Josh's mission (keep your fingers crossed) pics in the next month or two. Anyway, here are the ones of my "not" so lil' guy who is now 2 1/2.....I love how they turned out.

Our new addition.....

Sorry there are no picks but I had my first baby check up yesterday. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat and confirmed that there is just one little person in there. Only 6 more weeks and we'll know what the little person is going to be :)

Easter with Grandma

Image
I can't believe it is already Easter! Holy Cow, I feel like it should still be Thanksgiving or Christmas with how our weather has been. This past Sunday we got together with family for a pre-Easter party. We did BBQ on the grill, which was awesome. The weather was nice enough for what seemed one day only so that the kids didn't have to wear a winter coat. Here are a few pics of my cute little ones and their cousins. My nephew Kaiden Me nephews Dallas and Jackson by the tree. Josh with Emma and Seth I think I am going to call Adam the "yo-yo man". He was doing some pretty cool looking tricks.

Instead of Green, we have....

Purple 2nd Degree.....Miss Zoe had her purple belt testing in Mar. She missed 2 things on her kata I think so she was able to receive her Purple Belt Second Degree. You can tell by the pics she was not very happy. We are proud of her no matter what. I know she is going to ace it when we are done with this next session. Her sensei also said that she got an A+ on her sparring with other students. The "Graduation" night was also pretty cool because our Sensei got to present his first black belt. His son is a black belt as well but since he was related Sensei could not do the final teaching and have him under his "group". Needless to say, the first black belt was a GIRL!!! Girls rock! Her name is Olivia and we have watched her move up since she was a purple belt. She can really move. Anyway, she and Zoe have had a lot of fun in class together and have done some sparring. Never know, maybe Zoe will be Sensei's second female black belt :)

After long adieu.....

Here is Adam right before going to Prom. He had a couple GQ pics with mom :)

Another little bit of gratitude!!

Wow, I was just catching up on my blog reading and came across NieNie. I found her one day on my friend Emily's blog and haven't been able to stop checking in. Her story has been so amazing. I just don't know what I would do if I were in a similiar situation. Would I be able to find the humorous side of it all or would I be a "wallower". Anyway, her post that hit me pretty good this week was on motherhood and the fact that her little boy didn't "want" her. She then went on to talk about how one night she went to check on him when he was upset and that unlocked the door. He let her hold him and snuggle. The other thing that got me this week was hearing of the accident in Montana. The small airplane crash that killed 3 families. I was thinking of the grandpa that had planned the trip and was looking forward to such a fun week of laughs, fun and giggles. What must be going through his mind as he was walking through the crash site....knowing th

342nd MP Company -- Guardians of the Troops!

As some of you may know, my nephew Jimmy is serving as an MP in Iraq. I've been thinking of him a lot the past few days and was so excited to see that he has added some pictures to his myspace page of him and his buddies. Jimmy has been in Iraq since just a few weeks before Christmas. He will get to come home I believe in Nov. His wife Missi is in Ohio with their little girl Kendra. Kendra is just a little over a year old and carries her "daddy" bear all over the house. The main reason for this posting is that I just wanted to say how much I appreciate what our soldiers do for us everyday. It really bugs me when I hear or read something that says that these young men and women are stupid or uneducated and that they don't care about the people they are trying to protect. Most of them have hope for our world and believe that they can be of some small service in making it a better place. Some people may not agree with every reason why our soldiers are deployed bu

Sooo......

Well, there's no reason to beat around the bush. Some of you already know but our "little" family is going to get a little bigger. We found out last week that we are expecting the last little Price. We knew when we decided to have Seth that we were going to have one more and this time it just took a little longer. Baby Price will make an appearance just before Halloween, Oct 23rd. We are getting excited and for the moment feeling good. We'll see how long that lasts. Can I just tell you how glad I am it is not going to be in November or December. LOL.
I saw this on my friend Trina's blog and thought it would be fun! The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations: 1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! 2- What I create will be just for you. 3- It'll be done this year. 4- You have no clue what it's going to be. The catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

Draper Temple Open House

Image
Today we went as a BIG family to the Draper Temple Open House. Del's parents, Cheryl, Steve and my sis Liz and their families all went, 22 people. Since Mom and Dad were able to park closer to the temple we were actually seperated. Steve, Julie, Emma, Mom & Dad were able to go through a little faster than we did. We had to be bused over to the temple and didn't arrive until about 7pm. When we did get there it was dark so I was unable to take pictures. I've found a few on the news webpages to share. The Celestial Room...Isn't the ceiling beautiful??? The Baptismal Font My favorite room, the Garden Room. It made me feel like I was actually in the mural. I loved that there were so many animals to be found in the paintings....Elk, mountain goats, a cougar. Amazing and all handpainted. The temple was so beautiful. What a huge blessing to live where there are so many and to especially be able to take part in an Open House. The last open house I went to was fo

Family Pics 2009

Image
Well, we were finally able to go and get a new family picture done. We haven't haven't had a new picture since Seth was just a few weeks old. We decided to do a casual picture this time round. I have to tip my hat to Del and the older boys for being such troopers. We went to Kiddie Kandids, where I normally do the little kids pics. It was a smaller sitting area so those long legs got a little cramped. The pictures turned out cute though. Seth would not smile to save his life. He just did a cute little pucker. When we were finished, he finally decided that he was going to smile and laugh. Little turkey!! After pictures, we headed over to Marie Callendars. Adam turned 17 yesterday and we have a tradition that the birthday person gets to pick a place they want to go for dinner. We had a lot of fun despite the rain. When I left for work, Del and the boys were braking out the Wii and getting ready for a night of fun. I am bummed that I missed it. Del called me around 1
