Wow, 0 for 2.....

Not good, Mama is 0 for 2. Little Miss Zoe turned 8 on Tues. We didn't do very much but we are looking forward to the weekend. I got to go to her school and do a little "Zoe" spotlight. That was a lot of fun. I got to talk about her and then her class got to do a Q & A session. She has some really cute and funny kids in her class. Zoe's big day comes on the 27th. She will be baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is really excited. She had her interview with the bishop 2 weeks ago and is just "waiting" patiently. LOL. Grandma & Grandpa Luby arrive tomorrow and then Aunt Jen & Family will arrive on the 23rd. My computer at home is on the fritz so as soon as it is up and going I will have lots of pictures :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZOE......It's great to be 8!

BOLT

Image
If you haven't seen it, you need to. It is a really cute movie. We took Emma and her best-buddy Sar-bear (my niece Sarah) to go see it for Em's birthday. Cheryl and I laughed so much that we hope we didn't bother anyone. If the pigeons don't make you laugh then the hamster surely will. The other thing I liked about Bolt was the "short" film before hand. Mater Tokyo. There have been 3 other "Mater" spots on the Disney channel lately. They are so cute. I also just read that there is going to be a Cars 2 in Summer 2011. Jakey would have loved seeing Mater all hyped out and then in one of the other shorts as a firetruck. I hope they release them on a DVD all together.

Where has the time flown....

I can't believe we are almost into the middle of December. I have missed posting Thanksgiving, the day after shopping and most importantly, my little Emma's 5th birthday this past Monday. Since I had to work a swing shift, I feel that she got jipped a little bit. Thank goodness for my nephew Daniel having his birthday on the 4th, we went to Cheryl's on Sunday to participate in his Teacher ordination and were also able to share in the day with cake and ice cream for both of the girls. Emma has always been my little cuddlebug and at times even resembles Linus from Peanuts. She has been miserable the past week without her cherished blankie. I even explained that new blankie has been made with just as much love as the original but it is to no avail. She still sneaks into my room, tucks old blankie into new blankie so I won't see and then curls up on my bed. After she falls asleep and I go to move her and old blankie is discovered. This has obviously been very trama

Happy Birthday Seth!!

Image
Tomorrow is my little mans birthday. I can't believe he is going to be 2 already. We celebrated his birthday with Dels family and Liz & Gary. Seth was so funny when it came to blowing out the candle on his cake. He knows that it is hot so he was scared to get too close. Del had to go stand by him and try to coax him into blowing it out. It eventually became a group effort. He loved hanging out with his cousins and then had a blast opening all of his fun presents. Sure love ya little man!!

Interesting

I was just looking in the newspaper from back home (Ohio) and found an article that one of my cousins wrote about the casinos that they were putting on the ballot on 11/4. (No, they didn't pass) He was expressing his opinions as a guest writer in the paper. The last sentence struck me as we are dealing with all sorts of issues in our society lately. I thought it very good and wanted to share. "To fail to engage your faith on the issues that affect our society is to admit that faith is irrelevant. History has proven otherwise." Thanks Steve Collett. (link to complete article: http://www.wnewsj.com/main.asp?Search=1&ArticleID=168771&SectionID=42&SubSectionID=&S=1)

My Little Seth

Image
My little Seth is the funniest little guy. I just had to take a second and write about him. Lately he has been coming out of his little shell and developing into Hmmmm....He loves to tease Zoe and Emma, play with the puppies and wrestle with Dad and the boys. He has also really been getting into playing with cars, trucks...all the really cool "Boy" stuff. I think the thing that cracks me up the most is him finding my camera and trying to take pictures of himself all while being sure to say "cheese". Any time the little ham sees one of us with a camera he stops looks at you smiles with that cute little grin and says "CHEESE". Too cute, PRICELESS! I can't believe he will be 2 on Monday. Wow does time fly.

Proclamation of the Family!

I've pretty much kept my opinions about politics to myself. I feel that everyone has their own personal beliefs and that we should be able to respect each others freedom to choose the best candidate or proposition. The past two days here in Utah we have been hearing the outcome of Proposition 8 that was presented to voters in California. Our church was asked to join a coalition of other religions as well as non-denominational groups to assist in passing this proposition. The Proposition was given that an amendment would not be made to alter the California constitution to change their definition of marriage. I personally support this and if I lived in CA I would have voted for it as well. I know that the homosexual community in CA currently have the same rights that I and Del have as far as a Civil Union. Therefore, all legal aspects of their relationships are protected. As a protest to the Proposition passing, protesters picketed outside the LA Temple and today they are goi

Poor Adam

As many of you know, my son is quite the magician. He practices his card tricks relentlessly at times. This year he decided that instead of dressing up and using blood all over whatever for Halloween, he would tap into his magical personality. He got up early, painted his face to reflect a 4 of Hearts playing card, got to school and heard the following....Just a reminder, there is to be no face paint for costumes. He was so upset at the thought of all the time he had put into his design and then to have to wash it off. When we went to Del's office on Friday, he donned his old man mask from last year. Seth was not pleased!!

Gotta love FALL!!

Image
On Wed, Del got home from work and had the little ones get their shoes on for some fun. He took them over to our neighbor Gene's house. They raked up all the leaves in the back yard and had tons of fun throwing them in the air and jumping in the piles. Way to go Dad! :) They also had great time trying to climb the apricot tree.

Happy Halloween......

Trick or Treat was so much fun. The kids had a day off of school due to a teachers meeting so that made it so much nicer too. We started off with a little visit to Del's office for some "cubicle" haunting. Talk about spoiled kids!! The crew at his office rock, I think the kids had a good third to half of their bag filled. They also provided chips, sandwiches, drinks and cupcakes for the kids as well as letting them use the break room to play on the Wii, search the net for Club Penguin and catch a game of foozball. Del's brother Mark also works at Wavelink so we met up with him, Janett, Westin and Ethan. Our next adventure was Trunk or Treat at our wards parking lot. This is always a huge event in our neighborhood and the kids love it. This year we invited cousin Ashley to come with us and then go up and down our street. I think she had a pretty good time. We also had a pretty good time with Del's costume...notice the goofy glasses he had us all try on, I

Just thinking....

It's hard to believe my little guy will be two next month. It is also hard to believe that we have been without our Jake for 2 years & 16 days. Steve and Julie let us borrow Jakey's UofU shirt to go along with Del and Josh's costume, when Del brought it home I just started crying because I started to think of Jake and then to Halloween 05 when I last saw him actually wearing this shirt. We love and miss you a ton bud!! I'm still curious what things you told Seth about while you two were together :) Love Aunt Kimmie

Grandma Rich's Halloween Party

Image
Last Saturday we went to Grandma Rich's for annual Halloween Party. The kids always dress up and have a great time. For those of you aren't familiar, Grandma Rich is Del's first wife Tina's mom. They are a pretty cool family we do things with them just as much as we do mine or Del's. Our kids are so blessed to have such a huge family to support them and love them. In the pics, do not be fooled by Del and Josh wearing U of U attire. They are huge BYU fans, in fact that is the joke with this being their costume.

Cornbellys...

Image
Too fun. We went with Del's sister Cheryl and her family to Cornbelly's down at Thanksgiving Point on Saturday. It was a blast. Josh and Adam didn't get to come with us because Josh was on a date and Adam was working. Did I mention he is a "live" manequin? If your ever at South Towne, check him out in I think it's called Belle Chic. I guess he has freaked a few people out. Anyway, the little ones had a blast. We went through the corn maze, Zoe shot the corn canon, bounced on the air pillow and even got to do a ride on the hay wagon. Cheryl and her family are so much fun. We love getting together with them and just chillin. I am so grateful that Del's family is close by. Here are a few more pics of our grand adventures.

Girls Night Out

Image
Well, the girls and I got to do a first in quite a while. We tried to have our Brownie Girl Scout recruiting on Tues night and ended up only finding one other girl. It's very frustrating. Zoe wanted to join a troop last year and there wasn't one and the same this year so I decided that we would start our own. You need to have 5 girls at least to get started. Keep your fingers crossed we can find 3 more girls. Anyway....after our recruiting session, the girls and I decided to have a little girls night out. We were just going to go look at a new coat for Zoe but ended up going to Build-a-Bear that was right beside Childrens Place. Zoe got Bunny Bunny a Brownie vest and Emma got a new little friend named "Squirt" the elephant. Emma loves elephants!! I also found a cute little Halloween kitty and decided she needed a home. The girls named her Pumpkin. Pumpkin and Squirt even had dinner with us at Belgian Waffle.
